Westside German Shepherd Rescue of Los Angeles

This gorgeous hunk with the most beautiful big brown/hazel eyes is Duke, our large, dark sable, plush coated boy. He is about 4 yrs old with a friendly sweet temperament. He was an easy boy to photograph, he is not a barker at all, and walks very well on leash. Walking behind him looking down, he looks like a lion with his coat thicker and even more plush around his neck. He has some damage to one of his ears, we don't know where it comes from or what might have happened to him. He looks like he's had good care, and why he ended up in a cold shelter with nobody coming for him is a mystery. But as we like to say, someone's loss is our gain. The sable shepherds are bred for work in Germany so they like something to do. Our volunteer who took his pictures and who already has a dark sable shepherd can testify to that. She would also love to take him home if she didn't already have 2 large dogs. Duke is fine with other dogs and ignored the ones barking at him. Didn't care about the cats hissing at him either.
