Hugo
Adopted
Big magnificent Hugo was found badly injured
by animal control. A huge portion of his front leg had no skin. We
don't know if
he was burned with a blow torch or how he lost the skin. The officers
were relieved to see that Hugo had a collar with tags and a license.
It didn't dawn on them that this, spectacularly bred dog, everything
anyone could want in a German shepherd was going to be left for a month
to languish in the shelter .They repeatedly tried to contact the family
with no success. Everyday the shelter vet flushed Hugo's wounds and applied
the medication. Without careful care to his injury Hugo could have lost
the leg. The vet proudly told us how Hugo knew the routine and was such
a good dog. July 28, 2004 at 5:00 o'clock Hugo was going to be euthanized.
We got the call we always dread to come quickly or else ... Hugo seemed
to know that something good was happening when our volunteer showed up.
He was so happy that the big guy was acting like a puppy, rubbing his
head against the volunteer and wagging his big bushy tail. Even when
he had to go back in a little cage temporarily, he knew he wasn't going
to be abandoned this time. Can you help us continue Hugo's care at a
veterinary hospital and help us make up to this magnificent dog? We need
your help so we can continue to be the last hope for so many wonderful
German Shepherds. |
