Moose von Oakdale is a beautiful 6 year old long haired German Shepherd. Even though Moose is beautiful, what makes him so special is his gentle temperament. We were contacted by volunteers from a shelter in Oakdale that they had a wonderful dog who needed help finding a home. One of our volunteers flew her plane to pick up Moose. Moose jumped in the plane as if he had flown many times before. Another volunteer was at the airport to meet Moose. She could see his big furry head silhouetted in the window as the plane landed. Moose is one of those easy going, love everybody guys. He is now in a foster home and charming his foster mom. When Moose goes outside, he never just runs back in the house. He waits by the door to be invited back in.He is already housebroken. When he met his big canine foster sister who is a Great Pyrenees, one kiss and they were friends.He loves walks and enjoys meeting everyone, he loves kids and dogs alike. One of our volunteers told us that Moose is an 'angel', she just might be right.

Note from Moose's Foster Mom

Moose is housebroken and gets along and plays well with other dogs. I think he would be fine with children, he enjoys the attention he receives from children on our daily walks. But we don't have young children anymore, our daughter is 18. Moose is very affectionate once he gets to know you, wants to be with his people as much as possible, likes to be
among his family during car rides. We usually take our dog/s everywhere we can. Around our property he sticks close to us and he does not try to run off. At the park close to our house we let them run off leash and he comes when I whistle and call his name once. He must have received some obedience training in the past, but a refresher probably wouldn't hurt. He is smart, eager to please and very sensitive.
