Klaus is a beautiful 12 month old super well bred German Shepherd. He is one of the most beautiful dogs we have ever seen. He is loving and very people oriented. He is incredibly smart and learns anything you want to teach him in minutes. He knows all his commands and is housebroken. He is very good when left alone in the house. He likes other dogs, large and small. He is very sweet to his foster canine sister. Klaus is fine with the cats in his foster home when they are sleeping; outside he likes to chase them. Klaus is a good jogging companion.
We think that Klaus must have belonged to a breeder of show quality dogs, but was dumped when he found out that Klaus has a medical condition called mega esophagus. Klaus is not slowed down at all by his condition, but he needs someone special to give him a forever home. Klaus is not on medication, so there isn't any extra expense. He does best when fed dry food only; Iams puppy. Mega esophagus was something he was born with, the esophagus has an enlarged area where the food gets caught. Dogs with mega esophagus sometimes regurgitate. It doesn't faze Klaus in the slightest, but he needs someone kind and understanding who can see past that to what an incredible dog Klaus is and what he has to offer his new family.
